A proposal is under development to purchase the former Finewood Flooring facility as a co-operative that would be part of a larger 'Forest Hub' initiative. (Background here). But to do this we need your help.
We strongly believe the project will help us strengthen the health of our forests and local communities. However, there is a lot of work to be done. We are in the process of developing the co-op structure, securing the investment, putting in place advisory and oversight capacity, and developing a business plan.
We are asking all woodlot owners and others interested in the future of our forests and rural communities to get involved to the extent they are comfortable with. It could be as simple as general support, as an investor, as a future customer or supplier, or as an active participant in the process.
